Support ÜMIT - SCAD 2025 Thesis Film

ÜMIT is a 3-minute short film that follows a young astronomer Ümit from a land deprived of sunlight. Set in 15th-century Kazakh Khanate - in what is now modern-day Kazakhstan - the story takes place in a world shrouded by darkness, where survival grows more difficult day by day. While the elders, hardened after years of darkness, dismiss her plan, Ümit decides to build a tool to reunite her village with the long-lost Sun.

Since our team is hard at work animating, these funds will be allocated to hiring external collaborators. We plan to work with a Kazakh composer to incorporate traditional music, Kazakh voice actors for Ümit and the villagers, and a sound designer for sound effects.

After production, our budget will shift toward promoting the film, including creating art books & merchandise and supporting our festival circuit run.
