I'm Krista and I'm fundraising to support the staff of Ulaman Eco-Luxury Resort in Bali after two disastrous events have closed the resort for two months.
Recently, Ulaman has faced two devastating incidents: a tragic fire that engulfed Ulaman 3 and an unprecedented flood that caused major damage to Ulaman 1 and 2. I walked through to see the devastation myself and it is unrecognisable. While the extensive repairs are underway, the resort is closed until mid-November.
Ulaman has always been more than a resort — it’s a sanctuary where guests from around the world have found rest, renewal, and connection with five-star luxury in nature. It's been a personal joy to watch Dino, the creative and passionate owner who I have been friends with for 25 years, build this unbelieveable and iconic resort.
Dino has faced these two recent disasters with a truly admirable strength and optimism, knowing that the livelihood of his 100+ staff rely on his ability to persevere and rebuild from the literal ashes, and he has kept all of his staff employed despite this closure. But with the resort closed to all guests, they urgently need extra financial support to get through the next two months.
All funds raised here will go directly to the staff, providing vital support for them and their families during this difficult period.
These are the same dedicated Balinese staff who welcome every guest with smiles, warmth, and love — like family — and who make Ulaman feel like home. This is our opportunity to give back to them in their time of need.
If you’ve ever experienced Ulaman’s magic, or simply wish to support a kind and hardworking community, any amount you can share will be deeply appreciated.
