Our daily walks turned into stroller rides as he lost his strength to walk. Park playdates chasing him around turned to carrying him around to still get the experience. This has been the hardest point of this journey. A true pain I wish on nobody. The doctors feel treatments have been exhausted and to medicate to keep him comfortable at home….

<div>But lord knows this momma still has so much voice and fight left for my child. Hours upon days and weeks of constant research, emails and phone calls I put the pressure on some of the best facilities and doctors in the country. I’ve sent numerous pleas of urgent emails for answers and thoughts and FINALLY after months Truen has been accepted into a trial at st. Jude children’s hospital. We head to memphis Tennessee in a few days!!! While our hearts break to leave our children again, this is temporary and they will be happily waiting when we get back but our sweet strong boy needs us right now and every possible chance to beat this beast. I long for the laughter , him running around the room, the scrunchy faces and randomly walking up to give me all the kisses. Hope is running thin but still holding on. In these moments he has been heavy on constantly needing to hold my hand, when I try to let go he squeezes harder. But what he doesn’t know is a genuinely needed that more than he did ❤️

<div>Behind this smiling face is a boy who is fighting for his life. I hope this teaches some that you can NOT judge a person based off of what it looks like because there are battles we cannot see with the human eye. Be kind people!!

<div>Got the call from the doctor that we hoped to not hear. After much success with this chemo last time bringing the cancer from 53% down to .9 we followed the same protocol this time again to get him to 0 and it is unfortunate to hear his cancer is back up to 11-13% . This in their term is considered a relapse due to the fact we had Truen so close to zero but now increasing quickly again. We have learned that truens form of leukemia is very very rare and aggressive that either has no response to treatment or when it does respond it is the followed by resistance the second time around. Again our team is not just here in Florida but top doctors around the country working on his case.

<div>-st Jude only has a trial of which Truen needs to be of age to swallow pills

<div>- there is a highly renowned oncologist is Pittsburgh at CHOPS that wants to take Truen into care but the trial available is using the same drug fludarabine that Truen had no response to. Which may run the risk of wasting time saving his life. We may be booking flights to head up there over the next few days to sit with the team and discuss what can or can’t be done. If this is the step to be taken the we run into the fact his insurance will not cover anything out of state lines but I will sell my soul if it means my boy has the rest of his life happy and healthy.

<div>- we were advised these are our last options available and nothing more can be done following this. And my heart if fucking crushed. This innocent baby boy has lived his last 5 months in the hospital . Fighting as hard as he possibly can and yet still nothing positive. Cancer is cruel. We are all fighting this battle and not giving up but being faced with reality that he may never be cured from this. Cancer has torn my family apart . We are at a loss of words currently. I ask for all prayers to be sent to our boy and a miracle of healing or that something works!!!! This momma is angry, sad, feeling hopeless. Don’t take shit for granted guys!!! <div>Cancer is a word we never want to hear and damn near ripped my soul apart receiving the diagnosis for my 9-month-old baby. After so much push and being the voice for our little dude, we got news worse than we ever thought imaginable. Our lives were shattered in pieces when we were told Truen has leukemia. My sweet, perfect, innocent baby . This very much so is the very beginning of a long road we have ahead. Truen will be going into surgery tomorrow morning, in which we should have more info to share.
