Support Trip to Build School in Guatemala

Donation protected
Hi friends! I am returning to Guatemala this summer but this time I’ll be helping to work on a new school in the mountains of Guatemala (instead of stove building like in the past). We will work again in a little village called Pasaquatch. If we are friends on fb you’ve likely seen my posts about this exciting project that is very dear to my heart. We’ve been fundraising for the school building for about nine months. This particular go found me is not for the school build itself but for the trip costs to help get me there. I look so forward to reconnecting with this lovely community and to be able to see the little blue school in person. I can’t wait to lay cinder block with my own hands to contribute to the building of the kitchen, or tying rebar, hauling sand, concrete or whatever is needed. It’s a privilege I am humbled to be called to but I could really use help to get there. As much as I am longing to go there are many sacrifices along the way to getting there. Financing is an essential spoke in the wheel. As you can imagine so much goes into the planning of a project and trip like this and it requires many people working together, many steps falling into line. And I can tell you truthfully that I’ve never participated in a trip like this where the enemy did not show up to try to thwart it. This one is no exception. I could really use your prayers around this trip for timing, for health, for logistics, protection and finances. Please donate toward the expenses and cost of the trip if you can. It truly takes all kinds of help and the coming together of many hearts to make a trip successful. Each team member must fundraise their own trip costs. I appreciate any donation amount as every dollar matters.
Thank you for your support and for being a part of my journey. Thank you for supporting the education and the hope and futures of an entire mountain community in Guatemala. Statistics show that only about 70% of indigenous boys and 50% Indigenous girls attend school in Guatemala and that number decreases to 45% and 25% after age 16. In all of Guatemala fewer than 20% make it to high school. Reasons include lack of access to schools and distance, poverty and cultural barriers all play a part. We get to be a part of improving these odds exponentially for an entire area consisting of several communities. We get to. Would you be a part??
