My name is Shane and this is my boy Trigger. Thankfully, I rescued him four years ago when he was just two years old. He has been my emotional support dog and my comfort since day one. I'd like to think our paths crossed for a reason. I recently moved back home to New Hampshire from Florida, where I'd been living for the last ten years. I noticed Trigger had what I thought was a bad tooth and a few lumps and bumps along with itchy skin, which is common with Pit Bulls, and brought him to a new veterinarian here in NH.
Unfortunately, it was medically determined that he has a lot more serious medical issues that I was unprepared for, both mentally and financially. Which is why I'm here now.
I don't want to put my dog down because he needs medical attention, nor do I want to 're-home' him because of an unexpected surgery along with biopsies and aftercare medication.
Ten years ago, I was sent down to Florida to enter a rehab facility. No one gave up on me, and I'm grateful I had the support of my family and friends to keep me there. I'm hoping that the family and friends that supported me then will help me now to save my boy Trigger. Thank you for your help, and thank you for sharing my story.
