<div>As some of you may know, my son Trevor was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis at just 15 years old. For the past nine years, he has endured daily pain, countless procedures, multiple hospital stays, and even participated in a double-blind study—all in an effort to find answers and manage this horrific disease. In 2021, Trevor spent a month at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles due to serious complications from his condition.

<div>The day after Mother’s Day this year, Trevor’s condition became unbearable, and I rushed him to the ER at Ojai Hospital. The next day, he was transferred to CMH, where Sherrie Koester went above and beyond to find him an open bed and a doctor at Keck Medical Center of USC willing to take on his case. Once admitted, doctors discovered several abscesses that were causing him insurmountable pain, and he underwent a procedure to have them drained. After two difficult weeks, he was sent home to heal and build strength in preparation for surgery.

<div> On Tuesday, he underwent major abdominal surgery at Keck Medical Center of USC, and while it was necessary, it has left him facing a long recovery—physically, emotionally, and financially.

<div>Just last month, Trevor and his younger brother, Spencer, moved into their very first apartment together. It was such a proud step toward independence. 
</div>

</div>
<div>As the middle child of five, Trevor has always been the one to care for his siblings. He would never ask for help himself—but now he is the one who needs to be cared for. Our goal is to help cover Trevor’s medical bills and living expenses so he can focus on healing and regaining his strength.
