Can You Help Fund Tory’s Project and the film Indigenous Prophecy Today?

The Story of the Medicine Bridge Song

Tory Rosen is a musician, poet, healer, community convener, global kin-keeper, and peace activist residing on the ancestral lands of the Nipmuc and Pocumtuc in western Massachusetts. Some of her work in recent years has involved organizing cross-cultural intergenerational circles and convenings like The Peace Bridge Gatherings between some of the elder wisdom keepers from Hopi, Māori, Mayan, Ojibwe and Sufi lineages in dialogue with youth community leaders and social and environmental justice activists across the country and globe.

Upon request of Grandmother Susan Stark Christianson (the director, filmmaker and former award-winning journalist creating the documentary film Indigenous Prophecy Today), Tory was asked if she could develop a healing song to be integrated as a main part of the soundtrack and musical backdrop for the documentary in which Grandmother Susan interviewed elders from the Tlingit, Amara, Hopi, Shinto, Mayan and other culture bearers from Alaska, Australia, Japan, Central and South America and tribes across the United States.

Tory said Yes, Absolutely! and reached out to Ann Hackler and June Millington at the Institute of Musical Arts (IMA) in Goshen MA and the wonderful folks there like percussionist Janelle Burdell to see if the IMA could work with Tory to help produce a studio quality rendition of the healing song for the film.

This fundraiser is in support of that musical recording project which is taking place on SUNDAY FEBRUARY 25th - the amount of funds raised by close of day on the 25th will go directly toward ensuring a high quality production of the piece can be provided to Grandmother Susan. Specifically, the first $2500 will go towards cost of two days rental of the IMA recording studio plus two days worth of hourly fees for the producer, engineer, vocalist, uke, drummer, bass, mixing and mastering and sound recording technicians (a dedicated and talented crew). And even if we reach that goal please keep the donations coming as any and all funds that are raised beyond that amount will go directly towards supporting the broader film and film production process of this amazing documentary.

By donating whatever amount you are called you are not only logistically supporting the project (helping to fund the musicians, sound tech and music production process to make something truly high quality so it can be used in the documentary) but you’re also weaving your own loving energy and intention into the Medicine Bridge that this project is part of cultivating: the bridge between the elder, middle, and the young - ensuring the stories, teachings, and prophecies of the elders are shared, and the energetic bridge between that ancestral knowledge and the new generations this song is part of seeding stays strong at this pivotal time of change and transformation on the planet.
