With heavy hearts, we share that our beloved sister, Tonya, passed away on April 18th, after a courageous three-year battle with melanoma.
From the very beginning, she faced this journey with unwavering faith, incredible strength, and a grace that inspired everyone around her. Even in the face of immense challenges, she never lost her deep trust that, what would become her mantra, “God’s plan is perfect”. Jesus has called her home, and while our hearts are broken, we find comfort knowing she is now free, whole, and living in paradise.
She was surrounded by so much love in her final moments—Eddie, her children, her family and her dear friends were by her side until her last breath. In true form, even in her final hours, she found a way to make us laugh—a reflection of her beautiful spirit, her sense of humor, and her deep love of life.
She will be remembered for her bright smile, her infectious laugh, her generous heart, her unconditional love for her family, and her unwavering trust in the Lord. She fought this battle with unimaginable strength and never wavered in her faith.
Though we will forever feel the void she leaves behind, we will look for her in the quiet, meaningful moments—holding onto the belief that she is watching over all those she loved so deeply.
We ask for your continued prayers and support for her husband, her children, and our entire family during this incredibly difficult time.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 23rd from 3:00pm-8:00pm at Newcomer’s Funeral Home in Middletown and on Friday, April 24th from 9:30am- 11:00am at the Chapel In the Woods at Southeast Christian Church with a church service to follow at 11:00am. Burial service will follow at Duncan Memorial Church. In lieu of flowers, we kindly ask that donations be made to support her family during this difficult time.
Thank you for your love, prayers, and support throughout her journey. It has meant more than we can ever express. We will leave you with a verse that Tonya held dear during this season.
“For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 8:38-39).
