<div>Hi my name is Jessica Karner and I am a good family friend of Toni &amp; Jason Holtz. For those of you that do not know, Toni was recently diagnosed with a malignant peripheral nerve sheath tumor. Back in February she underwent a tumor resection from multi levels of her spine and part of her rib. She received a multi level spinal fusion at that time. Her recovery was long and grueling and at that time the tumor was entirely removed. Unfortunately this cancer is aggressive and has already returned . Last week she underwent a second spinal surgery to remove the tumor from the level above where they operated last time. The tumor was already compressing her spinal cord. She will have imaging and mapping done to begin radiation in the next week or two.

<div>Toni was supposed to return to work this week. For obvious reasons that did not happen and they are unsure when she will be able to return to work. While she is receiving short term disability it is not at 100%. Also a large chunk of her salary was based on call pay which she obviously isn’t getting right now. STD is good for 26 weeks and she has already exhausted 13 of those weeks and she has used all of her PTO.

<div>We all need a little help sometimes and the Holtzes could really use our help right now ! The Holtzes are a family of four with their oldest starting college in the fall. Medical bills are coming in and the loss of income is overwhelming. Jason has to take time off work to care for Toni and to bring her to her many doctor appts. Any donations will be used for medical bills, household bills, groceries, etc. Even $5 can help!
