<div>About two weeks ago, as he was heading out for another trip, he began to feel extremely ill — flu-like symptoms that seemed like a bad virus. Despite feeling terrible, he pushed through to

<div>make it back home. When he returned, we brought him to the emergency room at St. Cloud Hospital, where they did a scan of his lower body and said he was severely dehydrated. They ultimately said he had a bad virus and sent him home.

</div>

<div>But things quickly got worse.

</div>

<div>He developed a severe headache that made him dizzy and disoriented. We returned to the ER, where they performed a CT scan — and that’s when they discovered a mass on his brain. A follow-up MRI confirmed it was a meningioma, a type of brain tumor.

</div>

<div>We were initially told it wasn’t urgent, but my dad's condition continued to decline. The medication prescribed for his headaches wasn’t helping — and new symptoms started: high fevers, chills, and intense sweating. With this, we contacted Mayo Clinic, and they immediately

</div>

<div>asked us to bring him in.

<div>The Mayo Clinic fit him in the next day at 1:00 pm. This is when they looked over his records.

</div>

<div>This is when we found out all of these symptoms prior where caused from the meningioma. This is a large flat tumor on the top of his head which has been growing there for some time. It has wrapped and intertwined with veins and has been pressing on a large blood vessel. They are

<div>working on doing a angiogram tomorrow to see a map of how this tumor is wrapped around. He has little to no energy which required him to be put on a steroid. He has a scheduled visit with an eye doctor to take a closer look. As of right now, they believe that they will need to go in with

<div>brain surgery to remove some or all of it. We will know more tomorrow about this.

</div>

<div>We’re now facing an incredibly difficult road ahead, full of unknowns — tests, treatments, and medical bills, on top of the emotional stress and the fact that my dad is currently unable to work.

</div>
