As the horrors of his life prior to rescue sink in, the only way I know to honor him is to help pay his several thousand dollar bill which will allow the rescue to save others like him. If you can help in anyway, donating a bit or at least sharing to all your friends in case they can would be much appreciated. He never asked for much in life...some hay, water, grain (which was an unknown luxury) and a warm, safe barn (also an unknown luxury to him.) I will forever miss my boy. Nothing will take that pain away.
Update: He's gone. My beautiful boy is gone. He was seen at UT today and run through a mass of tests. His legs were a mess of torn ligaments and muscles. Doctors and surgeons explored options all day, but there was no way to fix him to where he wouldn't be in severe pain. I feel so guilty not knowing. Forcing him to get up. They all made the only realistic decision to set him free from the pain. To say I'm heartbroken is an understatement. I'm reeling through all the what ifs. I'll love you forever, Paul Newman. I wish our time together had been so much longer. WOULD YOU PLEASE HELP ME RAISE THE MONEY FOR HIS MEDICAL EXPENSES? It is way more than my goal. The rescue could use the money to save another in Paul's honor. PLEASE.
I normally don't make a big deal out of my birthday, but I decided to try raising money for a rescue near and dear to my heart. You all know that I recently had to let Paul return to TN for health reasons. It was such a hard decision, but it wasn't fair to let him suffer here. He couldn't walk in the low temperatures. It simply paralyzed him.
East Tennessee Miniature Horse and Donkey Rescue has an appointment this week with the University of Tennessee veterinarians to begin tests. I know there are so many needs out there right now as our country is falling apart with natural disasters, but any amount raised goes to them. They put everything in those they rescue. I know my goal is rather lofty, but I'm aiming high. You and I know his bill will be much more than that. Thank you in advance,
Angela
