<div>Over five years ago, I was diagnosed with late-stage prostate cancer. My journey began with a combination of radiation, chemotherapy, and clinical trial medications. Thankfully, these treatments led to a remission that lasted over three years.

<div>Recently, during a routine physical exam, my PSA levels were found to be elevated. I was referred to a urologist, and after undergoing several tests, it was confirmed that the cancer had returned. I have enrolled in a clinical trial and began a new phase of treatments.

<div>The therapy I’m receiving is part of cutting-edge research—designed to specifically target cancer cells while preserving healthy ones.

<div>	•	PSMA-targeted therapies, such as Pluvicto, which delivers radiation directly to prostate cancer cells to damage their DNA.

</div>

<div>	•	PARP inhibitors, which target cancer cells’ ability to repair themselves.

</div>

<div>	•	Immunotherapies, like sipuleucel-T (Provenge), which help the immune system recognize and fight cancer.

</div>

<div>	•	Combination therapies, integrating drugs with radiation or hormone treatments to improve outcomes for patients like me.

<div>Although these treatments show promise, they are still in trial stages and not yet approved by the FDA. This means they are not covered by insurance, leading to significant out-of-pocket expenses. I’m incredibly grateful to my sisters, my friends, and my dedicated urologist, who has helped secure medication samples when possible. Thanks to their support—and my own modest income—I’ve been able to continue this fight. But this journey has not been easy and has put a lot of strain on me financially .
