<div>My name is Tianna Strickland. I am a multi-disciplinary artist currently living with my grandma in Puerto Rico. I have been focusing on my art the last 6 years while I was living in Berlin, DE and just moved to Puerto Rico at the beginning of October to help out my family and specifically my grandma here. The art I was focusing on while living in Berlin was film photography, poetry, video, and sound projects.

<div>I love my art and take a lot of pride in the work I do. But unfortunately my financial situation has been hard over the last years, and moving to PR also hasn’t been easy. I am so grateful for my grandma and the help my family has provided me so far, but unfortunately that help can’t extend as far as I need currently. Over the last month I’ve been having issues with my MacBook. I had bought it right before I moved to Berlin, it was a refurbished MacBook from 2012. I haven’t been able to afford a new laptop or computer since 2008 when I first went to college for film and video.

<div>The MacBook I currently have, from 2012, has ran out of life. I can’t update the OS software anymore, which already had stopped me from being able to edit photos and videos on it, but now I can even use it to access basic websites. So I am asking for help to buy a new MacBook that I will allow me to actually be able to work on my projects.

<div>I am currently looking for jobs and applying for grants, but unfortunately haven’t gotten any responses back from anything. I’m using my phone to do all of my work and apply for everything, as there is also no computer in general I have access to here.
</div>

<div>The main focus for this fundraiser is to buy a new MacBook Pro, one that has the capacity for me to run all the programs I need for my art work and along with all my basic needs. I have added some extra money to the request as I have over 10 rolls of film that need to be developed, along with some debts I still have to pay off from my time in Berlin. 
</div>

<div>I have had to prioritize my basic living needs in front of everything else, including my art. I have a poetry book that I’ve been waiting to self publish as well, but I’d rather wait to see if any grants come thru for that.
</div>
