My father Thomas has always been a creative soul, filling our home with music, laughter, and art. He dreamed of being a musician and spent countless hours drawing, making comics, and telling the most vivid stories from his childhood. Even though he struggled with employment and was often out of work, he always made sure my sister and I had home-cooked meals and a loving environment. His goofiness and natural ability to entertain made him a favorite among my friends and anyone he met—he truly brought light to every room he entered. 
 
 
 
 Recently, Thomas was struck by a sudden and severe illness. What we thought was just a bad cold quickly turned into something much more serious. Within a day, he lost the ability to speak and move around on his own. After rushing him to the hospital, we learned that a new medication he was taking for his disability had caused his white blood cell count to drop to zero. Now, he is in the ICU, fighting for his life, and the disability that has already taken so much from him is at the center of this crisis. 
 
 
 
 Since May, Thomas has been unable to work and was denied disability benefits. My mother has been struggling to keep up with rent and electricity bills, and we are now two months behind. On top of these financial worries, we are facing mounting medical bills and the unknown costs of Thomas’s recovery—medication, therapy, and follow-up care. Support from our community right now would mean we could keep our home, maintain basic utilities, and ensure Thomas gets the care he needs. More than anything, I want to see my dad play guitar again and bring his light back into our lives. Any help would mean the world to us as we fight for his recovery.
