An Important Update on Thomas's Journey & How You Can Help!

Many of you know my wonderful 28-year-old brother, Thomas, who lives with Fragile X Syndrome (https://fragilex.org/), a condition that unfortunately makes him more prone to cognitive challenges and, as we've learned, cancer. I'm writing to share a significant update on his brave fight.

As you may remember, our journey began when dad noticed his right testicle was swollen. It was surgically removed in November, and on January 17th, we received the devastating news: it was an aggressive cancer that had already spread to his lungs.

Thomas immediately began a grueling chemotherapy regimen. For a couple of months, he faced this challenge head-on. We are so incredibly thrilled to share that his recent PET scan showed amazing improvements thanks to the chemotherapy! This wonderful news has now transitioned him to the next phase of his treatment: Radiation.

For the past month, Thomas has been undergoing daily radiation treatments. His new treatment location is in Searcy, Arkansas. While this is much closer to home than his previous travel (now 30 miles each way, five days a week), this daily journey is still a significant struggle for our retired dad, John, who remains Thomas's dedicated caregiver. The daily commitment, combined with Thomas's needs related to Fragile X, continues to be a heavy load.

Thomas is a true fighter, and his spirit remains strong. He's determined to beat this, but they still need our community's support to ease the ongoing financial strain. Your kindness can make a huge difference:

Travel Expenses: Even with the closer location, the daily 60-mile round trips, five days a week, add up. Contributions will help with gas and vehicle maintenance.
Nutritional Support: Covering the costs of specific dietary needs, healthy meals, and supplements crucial for his recovery and strength during radiation.
A Reliable Vehicle: The need for a more reliable and fuel-efficient car is still very much present to ensure Thomas can get to his daily treatments safely and comfortably, and to ease the burden on Dad.

Every share and every contribution, no matter the size, offers immense relief and allows Dad to focus on what's most important: Thomas's care and healing.

Thomas is facing this new stage of treatment with the same courage he's shown all along. Thank you for being part of his support system and for helping us navigate this challenging time.

Please consider donating if you can, and share this update to help spread the word for Thomas.

With heartfelt gratitude,

Thomas Sister,
