Support 35 International Theology Students in Crisis – $70,000 Goal
Faith on its feet is not expressed through words alone. We are ONE—and in this critical moment, it's imperative that we show up well for one another.
UniteBoston, in partnership with Students in Action at the Boston University School of Theology, is launching this urgent GoFundMe to raise $70,000 to support 35 international students facing significant financial hardship this summer.
Due to the current U.S. political climate, these students—many of whom are preparing for ministry, advocacy, and leadership in their home countries—have been advised not to leave the country during the summer break. Traveling home could mean being denied re-entry, putting their education and future ministry in jeopardy. Students are legally allowed to work on-campus, but demand outweighs supply for those positions, making it difficult to afford rent, food, utilities, and insurance from June through August.
While we know $2,000 per student will not meet every need for three months in Boston, it will help fill necessary gaps. This $70,000 goal allows us to provide a modest but meaningful safety net—$2,000 each for 35 students.
UniteBoston, a Christian nonprofit committed to building bridges across historic divides, is leading this effort because we believe in a church and city where everyone can flourish. This initiative reflects our mission of fostering tangible unity and love in action. All donations are tax-deductible.
Whether you can give $5, $50, $500, or more, every gift matters.
If you are part of a church or organization and would like to sponsor a student for the full $2,000, we’d be deeply grateful and glad to acknowledge your support.
"We must all learn to live together as brothers. Or we will all perish together as fools. We are tied together in the single garment of destiny, caught in an inescapable network of mutuality. And whatever affects one directly affects all indirectly. For some strange reason, I can never be what I ought to be until you are what you ought to be. And you can never be what you ought to be until I am what I ought to be. This is the way God’s universe is made; this is the way it is structured."
