This was not what we as a family were planning. We discussed it as a family and realized how much we had all missed her. We all prayed and thought and came to the very certain and unanimous conclusion that “YES” we wanted this little girl to be a part of our family. She had been a big part of our family before and we look forward to having her with us again. She is now older, and we do not anticipate this being an easy transition for her. We hope that because she knows us and knows we love her, this will ease the difficulty of having to move one last time.
So, here is where you become important. If you are reading this, you are probably a family or friend of ours. We truly believe that it takes a village to raise a child and what we are undertaking can not be done without support. We first, ask for your prayers for our family, for this little girl and the family that she is leaving. We are all doing our best in the given circumstance.
Secondly, we really need help covering adoption cost. We erroneously believed that since this was a straight forward adoption that the costs would be manageable. However, this will without a doubt cost us $10,000. Half of that is interstate adoption legal fees and the rest is required backround check, fees for the homestudy and social worker follow-up visits. We are required to pay for all of these costs. We just do not have that kind of extra expense worked into our budget. And we can’t wait to save the money, because this little girl needs a home now. Any little bit helps. If everyone gave, even just a little, it would mean the world to us. We are taking on a big responsibility and this would be one less worry.
Finally, the adoption is only the first step. We are always so proud of the loving and welcoming family and friends that we call our own. We need that love and welcoming to expand to include a nine-year-old girl who has been through more difficulties then any nine-year-old should ever have to go through. We need you to all keep being an ear or a shoulder for us, when the trying times come, because they will come. We need you to help us make a little girl (who will probably always struggle with this) feel fully a part of our family. We often brag about what a loving and welcoming family we have; we are relying on all of you.
We are sorry if we had to be vague on some points. We told you what we could and hopefully that will be enough. We will keep everyone updated on this website. Our entire family wants to thank-you in advance for your love and prayers and for your donations. We absolutely know that we can not do this without all of you.
