Who Will Benefit?
Funding from a successful campaign will go toward making The Third Act Project (TAP) self-sustaining -- as the only website anywhere devoted to the creative, spiritual and intellectual interests of men navigating the shoals of life in the third acts.
The Third Act Project provide an Internet venue where older men can come to read, listen to music, watch entertaining TV and film, engage in conversations with other men about what's possible in The Third Act of life. The Five Wise Guys, a TV series created for the website, and which has completed its first full season to strong acclaim, features five very funny guys navigating the shoals of life after seventy, often to hilarious effect.
How Funds Will be Used
Funds will be used to:
(1) create deeper, richer, more entertaining content in the year to come;
(2) finance production of another season of The Five Wise Guys;
(3) hire technical support to manage and maintain a smooth flowing and easy-to-acces site;
(4) finance a national membership drive to increase page views sufficiently to attract advertising sponsors -- income that will help to ensure a sustainable future for The Third Act Project.
The support that will generated from the success of our GoFundMe campaign and the future success of the Third Act Project
that draws older men out of isolation and into community.
We Need Funds starting on May 1, 2018
With funds in hand on May 1, 2018, the Project will be able to:
(1) hire a marketing consultant;
(2) hire tech support;
(3) begin production of Season 2 of The Five Wise Guys
What Your Support Will Mean to Us
We believe strongly that The Third Act Project can draw men out of isolation and into community with others. We discuss openly the issues of aging and of mortality with the hope that we can undo enough fear and loathing within us to envision a future for ourselves, that we can actually write it. So even if one old guy embarks on a new exploration of ideas as a result of joining the Project, we will have accomplished our mission. Of course, we want to do so for tens of thousands more!
