Friends, as many of you know, Chelby is in critical condition in the ICU at a hospital south of Eugene, following a stroke on Tuesday, the 19th.  This past week has been fraught with "touch and go" moments in her care, but Chelby continues to fight and prove to us just how strong she is.  Macarthy and Monroe have been staying in the area to be nearby her so they can see her whenever the hospital will allow them in.  That means that they have missed work themselves, just adding to the financial pressures that medical emergencies like this can bring.  The girls now have additional housing, food, travel and miscellaneous expenses that compound the stress they are already dealing with as young ladies facing a life changing event.   

Our hope is that Chelby defeats the medical obstacles in her way right now and returns to us wholly the woman that she was just a week ago. What we know right now though, is that Chelby is fighting a battle worse than she's ever faced. At the very least we know that she will need months of critical care, followed by intensive rehab.  Her condition this past week has been characterized by "one step forward, two steps back", each day. It has been heartbreaking, emotional and exhausting for her girls to see Chelby in this fight for her life.

As her friends, we want to help ease the burden that she and her girls are facing right now.  To know Chelby is know that she loves her girls more than anything and the only thing that she would ask of us, is to make sure that her girls are taken care of.
