<div>We are urgently raising funds to help Shipibo-Konibo communities in the Ucayali region of Peru which have been devastated by ongoing extreme floods. This is the most severe flooding in Ucayali in over 15 years, with entire villages submerged. Many Shipibo-Konibo families have lost their homes, businesses, crops and sources of income.

<div>On March 5, 2025 the government of Peru declared a state of emergency in several provinces due to intense rainfall, including several districts in Ucayali. The Yarinacocha Lagoon, an oxbow lake just north of Pucallpa and west of the Ucayali River, has risen several meters above dangerous levels, severely impacting nearby communities.

<div>Jakon Kibi, a North American Shipibo-Konibo Medicine community, is partnering with ASOMASHK (Asociación de Onanyabo Médicos Ancestrales Shipibo-Konibo), an organization of Onanyabo / Ancestral Medicine practitioners, to provide critical relief and long-term recovery support to Shipibo-Konibo communities in response to this catastrophic flooding.
