Support the Salcido Family in Their Time of Loss
Donation protected
When I first came to Fort Campbell, I ran into this bunch of people right here. Meet the Salcidos. One thing led to another, and I became very well acquainted with this family. It actually got to the point where we became roommates and lived together before my deployment to Europe. In the meantime, we shared love, laughter, tears, and happiness. After it was all said and done, I became the godfather of their beautiful baby girl named Elizabeth. She can be rotten, but that’s my little one.
For a while, the Salcidos have been trying to get pregnant, but unfortunately, it wasn’t in the cards. However, they began IVF treatment not too long ago, and beauty struck. They were pregnant with a little boy. Unfortunately, today…they lost that little boy. I won’t go into the details because it’s not my place. However, we all know how expensive IVF treatments are. Now they are having to bury the boy they were hoping to bring into the world.
I won’t say I understand the cruelty of this world, nor will I pretend there is some “grand plan.” However, these people helped me when I was down in some of the darkest times. Now I’m trying to return the favor back to them. Coming from an Appalachian background, we are tough. We stick together, and we look out for those who look out for us. I know it’s Christmas time and everyone’s situation is different, but if you have the means, anything helps. I love you all and thank you in advance. If you have any questions, just let me know!
