<div>The beneficiary of these funds is listed as Brianna Ebert. She is the fiancé of Darron Rose. The funds that were raised are going to help this family greatly as they navigate funeral costs, loss of income when unable to work along with the loss of Darron's income, as well as the legalities around sorting through probate. Darron had two adult children and one child that is a minor. This outpouring of support also helped greatly during the time of continued search efforts that took place. The gratitude from the family is immeasurable.

<div>On Wednesday, August 7, 2024, our small, tight-knit Myakka River community began experiencing a very tragic situation. This comes at a time when our community was already preparing for anticipated floodwaters in the aftermath of Tropical Storm Debby.

<div>At 10:08 a.m., our beloved Darron Rose decided to take a quick trip on his Jet Ski to investigate the rising floodwaters on the Myakka River, before resuming flood preparations at his home where the rest of his immediate family resides.

<div>Shortly after this, his Jet Ski collided with a jon boat carrying three teens, coming around a sharp turn in the river about a quarter of a mile north of the Border Road bridge. Immediately, Darron was nowhere to be found. The three teens were able to secure the Jet Ski to a nearby tree and then reached out to others and law enforcement for help.

<div>Search and rescue teams were immediately deployed and actively searched the area until dark. They utilized boats, helicopters, sonar, drones, and divers with no success. An outpouring of local community members, family, and friends also took to the river to search the waters and nearby woods, even into the early hours of the morning. This has been an incredible challenge as the floodwaters of the Myakka River continued to rise, currents became stronger, and conditions worsened.

<div>Every moment that passes makes the search increasingly difficult. Despite these growing challenges, our community does not want to give up. At the end of today, Friday, August 9, 2024, official search and rescue teams will have to end their efforts. This is devastating news to all who love Darron and are desperately seeking any sign of him.

<div>Private search teams have been enlisted by the family to aid in the search, even under these conditions. This search team operates solely on donations, and we urgently want to support their efforts.

<div>Darron Rose is a Florida boy through and through. Everything he does is in support of this town he loves and his family, which includes his three children—ages 21, 20, and 5—as well as his grandson, age 3, and a grandchild on the way. They all share the same property that they call home. This local community also looks to him in many situations involving the river and other endeavors. In past emergencies, Darron has always been the first to jump into action at any cost. Now, this community is doing everything possible to return the favor.

<div>Meanwhile, the family is also battling the current flooding situation without Darron’s help and wisdom. They are unable to work due to the emotional burdens they are trying to sort through. They are grateful for community support, daycares that are able to assist with child care, and the outpouring of love they are receiving in response to all that is Darron Rose.

<div>Financial burdens are likely to be experienced due to their inability to work and the loss of Darron’s income as a local and trusted plumber. This GoFundMe is set up with the sole purpose of supporting this family in any way we can and to continue these search efforts in the best way possible.
