My niece Dani was the most authentic, unique, quirky, and gentle person I have ever met. She loved books and fossils. She was an honor student and was embarking on her academic career at the U of M this year. Her major was paleontology. On a full scholarship. She loved tea, and Dr. Who, and dreamed of living in London. She spent her free time with her family, and helped her mom collect coats and essentials for the homeless, despite their own financial worries. On December 11 she was rushing to catch a train for work and was tragically struck by an oncoming train and died. Our family is heartbroken. She was one of our purest joys. This unexpected trauma will come with additional burden other than the emotional and spiritual grief. Please consider helping me assist my sister Missy, brother in law Mike, and sweet Madi, Hailee, and Hayden as they embark on this unthinkable journey.
