Support the Robinett Family during Medical Crisis

My name is Lilith Piri and I am raising money to help my sister's family during a medical emergency. Roxie and Ian (37) and their young daughter need a little help to get by while Ian is in the hospital and work and daily life are disrupted. Funds will be used for essentials such as bills, groceries, medication and transportation.
On Dec. 20, Ian was having pain and difficulty breathing and went to the ER. He was diagnosed with pneumonia, but multiple covid tests were negative. On Christmas, Ian had surgery to remove fluid and an abscess from his lungs. He was on a ventilator and sedated for a time, and having periods of institutional delirium, which the nurse said was common when people have severe infections. Because covid is rampant, no visitors were allowed in the ICU, and no beds were available at the hospitals where they had facilities and specialists to better help him.
On New Years' Eve, Ian quit breathing. His team did CPR, got him back on a ventilator, and stabilized. A bed opened up at a tertiary hospital in Lincoln, Nebraska, 2 hours away, and Ian was transported there by ambulance. Currently, Ian has a chest tube and is receiving dialysis every day, since now his kidneys are not functioning well. He is stable and was off the ventilator on Jan. 5. Bryan Medical Center currently allows one visitor per day, so Roxie has been able to spend some time with him in the hospital.
Ian does not have medical insurance, but right now, the focus is just on getting through the immediate crisis. They are taking things one day at a time. Ian's mom is helping with their daughter, and they take turns visiting Ian.

Folks, we have almost met the goal in just 2 days, so I have raised our goal to keep support flowing for a bit longer, since at this point we have no idea how long Ian will be in the hospital, or how long it will take him to recover. (For those asking about medical bills, Roxie has applied for assistance from the hospital, and my husband is a lawyer ready to help smooth a way for bill forgiveness if needed. If in future there are threatening medical bills due, I will be sure to let everyone know that help is needed at that time.)
