<div>The Overbrook Community Association (OCA) has organized this fundraising effort.  A target of $6,500 is being sought from the general public to help, in part, in funding the construction and plantings for this kiosk project in May of 2025 (see photo).

<div>The location of the project is along the National Capital Commission’s Rideau River East Pathway just south of the Rideau Sports Centre on Donald Street.

<div>This OCA kiosk project involved the installation of information kiosks in a small landscaped area near the Adàwe Crossing on the east side of the river in Overbrook.  The six kiosk panels, now installed, present bilingual information on the Rideau River and Overbrook with a focus on First Nations and Overbrook history and heritage, the natural environment of the river, and planning and protection of the waterway.

<div>In 2022 Overbrook celebrated its 100-year anniversary as a recognized municipal “police” village and 2025 now is the 150th anniversary of the construction of the first Hurdman’s Bridge to Overbrook.  Both of these important community milestones are highlighted plus much more.

<div>The project component cost include:  1) site works - for subgrade preparation, topsoil and seeding; 2) surface materials - for stone dust pathway surfaces and some concrete support pads; 3) site furnishing - for interpretative kiosk stands and display panels and armour stone; and, 4) planting - for shrubs and perennials flowers.
