Support the Richez family

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ and friends,

I am writing to you to call for a generous donation to my brother in Christ Olivier RICHEZ. My name is Jonas Croissant, I am a research professor in chemistry working on nanoparticles for cancer treatment at the University of New Mexico. My friend Olivier is a future Pastor who attended a seminary in France in the Paris Region (Institut Biblique De Nogent in Nogent-sur-Marne). His dear wife, Natacha RICHEZ, had a hereditary brain cancer in 2012 (her mother died due to the same disease). At that time, we attended the same church in the city of Montpellier in the south of France. She was treated with chemotherapy/radiotherapy and she recovered. Olivier was at that time a paramedic, and he left the south of France to go to seminary in the Paris region. His wife, who had continued her master degree, completed it and got a job in Paris to support them financially while he was attending seminary. In 2017, they consulted an expert neurosurgeon in Paris to inquire if they could have a child and if the tumor was likely to come back. Olivier told me that the doctor had told them that “it was as likely to be killed by a truck than to have the tumor reappear”. Natacha then got pregnant and two months before the due date, Olivier noticed that she was getting sick again and the emergency services detected a terrible return of the tumor. Their son was delivered by a c-section in an emergency. The baby Elias RICHEZ was born and is healthy, praise the Lord! Natacha remained in the hospital for several months after the birth. They, then, moved to Nice in the south to be with some family members. The doctors told Olivier that it would be “a miracle if she survives the summer”. Natacha is now in a coma since August 6, 2018. When she will meet the Lord, my brother will have to search for any job since the only money they currently earn is based on her sick leave. Can you imagine having a son and becoming a widower in the same year, after having nearly completed seminary? My prayer is that Olivier would be mightily used by the Lord by pastoring a local Church, preaching the Word. Please pray that a biblical church would hire him as soon as possible. Olivier is committed to the inerrancy of Scripture and Expository preaching and he has power in his preaching. He is a godly man, evangelizing the lost in the city, we have to help him and communicate through our donations that the Universal Church and compassionate friends are here to help him and his son.  

On August 14, 2018, I learned that Natacha passed away.

Today, August 19, I received this news from Olivier: "Natasha was buried yesterday (Saturday, August 18). There were 250 people at the ceremony and many non-Christians. The ceremony focused on the theme of gratitude and hope, it was for me a very beautiful moment with a beautiful homage, but also the strong message that we Christians carry: the hope that is in us. "

Je vous écris pour solliciter votre générosité à l’égard de mon frère en Christ Olivier RICHEZ. Je m'appelle Jonas Croissant, je suis professeur de recherche en chimie travaillant sur les nanoparticules pour le traitement du cancer à l'Université du Nouveau-Mexique. Mon ami Olivier est un futur pasteur qui a suivi une formation pastorale en région parisienne (Institut Biblique De Nogent à Nogent-sur-Marne). Sa chère épouse, Natacha Richez, a eu un cancer du cerveau héréditaire en 2012 (sa mère est décédée à cause de la même maladie). À cette époque, nous allions à la même église à Montpellier dans le sud de la France. Elle a été traitée par chimiothérapie/radiothérapie et elle s’en était alors remise. Olivier était ambulancier et il a quitté son travail pour devenir pasteur. Sa femme, qui avait malgré la maladie poursuivi son master, l’a obtenue et a trouvé un emploi à Paris pour les soutenir financièrement alors pendant la formation pastorale. En 2017, ils ont consulté un neurochirurgien expert à Paris pour savoir s'ils pouvaient avoir un enfant et si la tumeur était susceptible de revenir. Olivier m'a dit que le médecin leur avait dit qu’il « était autant probable d'être tué par un camion que de voir réapparaître la tumeur ». Natacha est alors tombée enceinte et deux mois avant le terme, Olivier a remarqué qu'elle était de nouveau malade et les services d'urgence ont détecté un terrible retour de la tumeur. Leur fils a été livré par une césarienne en cas d'urgence. Le bébé Elias Richez est né et est en bonne santé, louez le Seigneur! Natacha est restée à l'hôpital plusieurs mois après la naissance. Ils ont ensuite déménagé à Nice pour être avec des membres de leur famille. Les médecins ont dit à Olivier que ce serait "un miracle si elle survit à l'été". Natacha est maintenant dans le coma depuis le 8 août 2018. Quand elle rencontrera le Seigneur, mon frère devra chercher un emploi, car leur revenu financier provient actuellement du congé de maladie de Natacha. Pouvez-vous imaginer avoir un fils et devenir veuf la même année, après avoir presque terminé une formation pastorale ? Ma prière est qu'Olivier soit puissamment utilisé par le Seigneur dans une église locale, en prêchant la Parole. Merci de prier pour qu'une église biblique l'embauche une fois que son deuil sera passé. Olivier est convaincu de l'inerrance de la Parole, dédié à la prédication textuelle (verset par verset) et puissance du Saint-Esprit est évidente dans sa prédication. C'est un homme pieux, évangélisant les perdus de la ville, nous devons l'aider et lui communiquer au travers nos dons que l'Église universelle et les amis communs sont là pour l'aider, lui et son fils.

Aujourd'hui 14 août, j'ai appris le décès de Natacha.

Aujourd'hui 19 août, j'ai reçu ces nouvelles d'Olivier: "Natacha a été inhumé hier (samedi 18 août). Il y avait 250 personnes à la cérémonie et de nombreux non chrétiens. La cérémonie a porté sur le thème de la reconnaissance et de l'espérance. Ce fut pour ma part un très beau moment avec un bel hommage, mais aussi le fort message que nous chrétien portons : l'espérance qui est en nous."
