Support the Quintals

Less than seven months after our friends Dave, Sunny and Makayla moved to NC for a new life adventure Dave unexpectedly died on September 27th due to a massive heart attack (final autopsy results are expected soon). To be near their family and friends who are like family, to provide stability during their grief and to be in the home filled with their memories of Dave, Sunny and Makayla decided to move back from NC to the home they built with Dave in Maine. Unfortunately Dave and Sunny signed an agreement to sell that house twenty days prior to his unexpected death and despite the circumstances the buyers would not let Sunny out of the sales agreement. In order to keep Makayla as happy as possible given the circumstances and to avoid going to court where Sunny was advised she would likely be ordered by a judge to sell their home, Sunny ended up settling with the buyers and paying them $85,000 in order for them to agree to walk away from the sale of the house. Despite her grief, Sunny wants to educate other homeowners about the purchase and sales agreement most real estate transactions use in the State of Maine as it provides no way for sellers to back out of selling their property even in extenuating circumstances such as hers. Please consider donating whatever you are able to help Sunny offset this huge expense she and Dave could never have foreseen or prepared for (which comes on top of many other bills including emergency and hospital bills, autopsy and funeral expenses, lawyers fees, moving expenses, etc.).
