Support the McMillon Family

The family has received a ton of texts and calls over the past few days, and both Mom and Dad are finally strong enough to share Baby Kian’s journey with all of you in hopes that your thoughts and prayers will help uplift spirits and Kian’s health.

Jordan was 38 weeks along carrying a healthy baby boy. Ultrasounds were good, Mom’s health was great, and Dad was away training for his upcoming deployment to Afghanistan. Sunday evening, Mom noticed his kicks were weak and went to the hospital. An ultrasound revealed some swollen ventricles in the brain. The next morning her Dr. sent her to OU Children’s Hospital to have more support from specialists and a Level 1 NICU.

Labor was induced Monday evening. Kian struggled tolerating medicine to help Mom’s uterus to contract, fighting long and hard for 18 hours. He was finally delivered via emergency c-section Tuesday evening. He was very bruised, but able to breathe on his own. We even heard his little cry for the first time.

24 hours later, Kian is fighting for his life. His bilirubin continues to rise, blood pressures are low, and he is now receiving oxygen therapy to help his little lungs. Ultrasounds revealed cysts on his brain, as well as some underdeveloped sections within the brain itself. He is too unstable right now for an MRI.

The McMillon Family has a very long road ahead of them and could use any and all support from our family, friends, and community. We are unsure when Baby Kian will see his own nursery, but our Faith and prayers keep us lifted every time we see him. According to his doctor, it will be awhile.

This is where we can help support Mom and Dad with traveling expenses as Mom will be discharged soon, and Dad is still expected to participate in Pre-Deployment training. Any little bit will go directly to the Family as they try to cope and spend as much time as possible with their newborn son. If you guys have watched this couple grow over the years, you will know just how pure and selfless they truly are.

We love you all and are extremely thankful for every thought and prayer promised over the last few days. #PrayersforKian
