<div>In August, Lisulo underwent a very complicated brain surgery to remove a large tumor (benign) from his pituitary gland. The tumor was crushing his optic nerve causing partial blindness, pressing on his cranial arteries causing risk of stroke, and ultimately risking his life.

<div>Despite a successful surgery in which they removed all of the tumor and had no damage to the hypothalamus, the impact to his brain was severe and the recovery path is very lengthy. Thankfully, he is able to walk and talk, has great motor skills, and long term memory. However, his short term memory and other major cognitive aspects have not yet returned preventing him from being able to do basic life tasks. On top of this brain injury resulting from surgery, the tumor permanently damaged his pituitary gland causing serious medical complications.

<div>Since surgery, Lisulo has spent over 2 months in the hospital and rehab. Insurance has dictated that he can no longer get inpatient treatment. However, because of the severity of his brain injury, he still needs round the clock supervision and medical care. His wife, Stephanie, has become his fulltime caregiver. The strain this has put on the family is enormous.

<div>While we are incredibly hopeful for a full or near full recovery in time, progress at this stage is very slow and very tenuous. Because of his cognitive issues, Lisulo is unable to work. The emotional and financial loss the family is experiencing is unimaginable and the path to recovery has been fraught with many setbacks and challenges, at times seeming insurmountable.

<div>First and foremost we ask for prayer for Lisulo, Stephanie, and their 5 children. They have gone through and are facing the unthinkable. The emotional toll is huge. Second, we are grateful for any donations that will help ease the financial burden of living expenses, lost wages, and medical care/ therapy he needs to make progress. We are incredibly grateful for your help as the family tries to heal and recover from this devastating time.
