Grassroots Arts Initiative Network Nigeria (G.A.I.N.) in collaboration with Conviction 2 Change Publishing LLC (United States) has begun enrollment of 300 students will from 20 different government schools within the Akoka, Bariga, Shomolu, Oworoshonki, and Gbagada communities for its commence our LAGOS LITERATURE LABORATORY 2021/2022 session.
The project was initiated as a result of the challenges faced during 2020 COVID- 19 lockdown that lasted over a year and crippled our after school performing arts extracurricular program for government secondary schools, which affected our activities that have been running for past fifteen years. The project is dedicated to assist these students to excel in their academics while discovering and developing their talents and gifts through literature practical activities.
Many students in our government schools lack adequate means to learn and attain excellence and have become influenced with negative vices turning them into a liability and menace to the community. Most of these communities have quite a large number of teenagers who passed out from these schools but were not adequately mentored or given platforms to explore their potentials and they have been exposed and vulnerable to negative influences. G.A.I.N. needs your contribution to create a platform to engage these gifted and talented teenagers, re-orient them, and take them off of the street.
The laboratory needs your contributions to cater for 300 students with
1. School Bags
2. School Uniforms
4. Exercise books
6.School desks and chairs
The Laboratory will facilitate reputable arts personalities and celebrities as mentors, organize frequent educational excursions to institutions and organizations with an annual exhibition where students will showcase their performances, and outstanding students will be awarded scholarships to further more on into University.
We look forward to you being a part of impacting lives, and helping these teenagers excel and become shinning stars!
