<div>Hello, my name is Katy Miazga. Below is a hardship my beloved big brother, Travis Miazga, is facing and about to undergo surgery for his well-being. I'm asking from a sibling standpoint; if you can relate, you know you'd drop anything and everything to help your family when in need because we only ever get so many blooded family members in one life. It's come to my attention after seeing how much pain my brother is in that he can't keep going like this. Seeing someone so strong become so weak devastates you in more ways than one. It's my turn now to be the big-little sister and help him for a change! So, I'm asking you all to help my big brother out with medical expenses and the aftermath of living expenses, as he'll be out of commission for some time. As much as we hate to ask for help, it would be greatly appreciated by him, me, our family, and friends.

<div><strong>Help Travis Heal and Get Back on His Feet</strong>

<div>In the second week of August, my brother Travis’s life changed in an instant. What started as pain soon became unbearable, so severe that by the next week he could barely walk and had to go to the ER.

</div>

<div>On September 18th, X-rays showed that something was very wrong. His disc thickness and spinal alignment at L5/S1 were abnormal. On September 29th, further scans revealed more than a pulled muscle or sciatica. By October 2nd, his neurosurgeon confirmed the truth: the only way forward is spinal surgery.

<div><strong>This isn’t optional. Without surgery, there’s a high risk of permanent nerve damage in his left leg. Physical therapy won’t help. Injections would only delay the inevitable while raising the danger. Surgery is the only path to relief and recovery.</strong>

<div>The procedures Travis will undergo, while relatively common, do have risks. Back surgery in itself is considered a major endeavor.

<div>These will address the damage in his lumbar vertebrae (L5) and sacrum (S1). His operation is scheduled as soon as October 10th, with a recovery time of 9–12 weeks. That means he has already been out of work since September 20th, and he won’t be cleared to return until at least January 3rd.

<div>During this time, Travis will have no income. He’s facing months of recovery, the stress of medical bills, and the heavy weight of trying to figure out how to keep up with basic living expenses while healing.
