Help a family of 5 Rebuild After Tragedy
My name is Velma Davis. I'm reaching out with a humble heart to ask for support for my niece and her family to assist with sustaining their daily lives after gun violence - see below.
Hello, I'm Iesha Hayes-Johnson. My husband, Lester Johnson, was permanently disabled from the waist down due to gun violence in the summer of this year. Overnight, our lives were turned upside down, and our family of five is now facing challenges we never imagined.
Unfortunately, our lives have taken a turn with this tragedy. With that being said, I had to quit my job to assist with his daily care. I'm doing everything I can to support us staying afloat. The financial and emotional toll is very overwhelming. We're urgently in need of help to cover:
- Housing Stability: While our complex is working on modifying our home, it has been a challenge navigating our day to day.
- Transportation: Our current vehicle is not wheelchair-accessible, making daily tasks and medical appointments nearly impossible sometimes.
- Disability Services: Specialized care, therapy, and adaptive equipment for my husband's new reality are crucial to improving his quality of life.
Your generosity will give us an opportunity to rebuild and provide my family with the stability we deserve. Every dollar, share, and kind word can make a difference. Thank you for being a part of our journey to recovery.
With gratitude,
Iesha Hayes-Johnson
