My boyfriend, his family, and I were all involved in a tragic house fire that destroyed everything they worked so hard to build. By the grace of God, we are all safe but the home they poured their hearts into is now gone, along with every belonging inside. His family came to this country with a dream. They started from nothing, going from the Dominican Republic to the States working day and night just to give their children a better life. After years of hard work, sacrifice, and dedication, they were finally able to buy a home a place filled with love, laughter, and the warmth of family.

That dream was taken from them in an instant.
