This is a fundraiser to help the Grimwade family through a very difficult time, hopefully easing some of the financial pressures on them whilst they travel back and forth from Great Ormond Street with Woody.
In 2021 Woody developed neutropenia and after further diagnosis he was diagnosed with an extremely rare genetic condition called Deficiency of Adenosine Deaminase 2 or DADA2 for short. After recent tests at Great Ormond Street Hospital it has been decided that Woody needs to move to the next stage and have a Bone Marrow Transplant as soon as they find a match.
This is going to be a huge strain on the family, not only emotionally but financially with more travel, more hospital stays and less time to work and pay the bills.
The Grimwades are the kindest most caring family I know. Always willing to help others, even when going through the toughest times themselves. Let’s repay some of that kindness and give them one less thing to worry about.
