 On 19 July 2026, our dear friend Rokas Nenartavičius's life was needlessly taken while he was stopped at a red light. He was struck by a driver in circumstances that authorities are investigating as an illegal street race.

 Rokas was much more than an exceptional judoka. He was a beloved partner, son, brother, friend, coach, and mentor whose kindness touched countless lives. Many will also remember him from Mr. Pickwick Pub, where he worked as a bartender and was known for his warm smile, welcoming personality, and ability to brighten everyone's day. Whether at the dojo, at work, or among friends, Rokas had a remarkable ability to make everyone feel valued, welcomed, and at home. He inspired those around him through his dedication, compassion, and unwavering willingness to help others.

 His sudden passing has left an immeasurable void in the hearts of his partner, family, friends, colleagues, students, and everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. While no words can ease the pain of this unimaginable loss, we hope to come together as a community to support those he loved most during this incredibly difficult time.

 With the full support and permission of his family, the African community of Geneva has come together to launch this fundraising initiative in Rokas's memory and to stand alongside his loved ones.

 All funds raised will be transferred directly to Rokas's family to help ease the financial burden following this tragic loss, including funeral expenses and any other needs they may have in the weeks and months ahead.

 Le 19 juillet 2026, la vie de notre cher ami Rokas Nenartavičius lui a été injustement arrachée alors qu'il était arrêté à un feu rouge. Il a été percuté par un conducteur dans des circonstances que les autorités soupçonnent d'être liées à une course de rue illégale.

 Rokas était bien plus qu'un judoka d'exception. Il était un compagnon aimant, un fils, un frère, un ami, un entraîneur et un mentor profondément apprécié, dont la bienveillance a marqué la vie de nombreuses personnes. Beaucoup le connaissaient également grâce au Mr. Pickwick Pub, où il travaillait comme barman et était apprécié pour son sourire chaleureux, sa personnalité accueillante et sa capacité à illuminer la journée de ceux qu'il rencontrait. Que ce soit au dojo, au travail ou parmi ses proches, Rokas avait ce don rare de faire sentir chacun important, écouté et accueilli. Par son engagement, sa compassion et sa générosité sans faille, il inspirait tous ceux qui avaient la chance de le côtoyer.

 Son départ brutal laisse un vide immense dans le cœur de sa compagne, de sa famille, de ses amis, de ses collègues, de ses élèves et de toutes les personnes qui ont eu le privilège de le connaître. Même si aucun mot ne pourra apaiser une telle douleur, nous espérons nous rassembler en tant que communauté afin de soutenir les êtres qui lui étaient les plus chers durant cette épreuve si difficile.

 Avec le plein accord et le soutien de sa famille, la communauté africaine de Genève s'est réunie pour lancer cette collecte de fonds en hommage à Rokas et afin d'accompagner ses proches dans ces moments d'une immense douleur.

 L'intégralité des fonds récoltés sera reversée directement à la famille de Rokas afin d'alléger le poids financier engendré par cette tragédie, notamment pour les frais d'obsèques ainsi que pour les besoins qui pourraient se présenter dans les semaines et les mois à venir.

 2026 m. liepos 19 d. mūsų brangaus draugo Roko Nenartavičiaus gyvybė buvo beprasmiškai atimta, kai jis, sustojęs prie raudono šviesoforo signalo, buvo partrenktas vairuotojo. Šio įvykio aplinkybes teisėsaugos institucijos tiria kaip galimas nelegalias gatvės lenktynes.

 Rokas buvo kur kas daugiau nei išskirtinis dziudo sportininkas. Jis buvo mylintis partneris, sūnus, brolis, draugas, treneris ir mentorius, kurio gerumas palietė daugybę žmonių. Daugelis jį prisimins ir iš Mr. Pickwick Pub, kur jis dirbo barmenu ir buvo žinomas dėl savo šiltos šypsenos, draugiškumo bei gebėjimo praskaidrinti kiekvieno dieną. Nesvarbu, ar tai buvo dziudo salėje, darbe ar tarp draugų, Rokas turėjo retą dovaną priversti kiekvieną pasijusti laukiamu, vertinamu ir savam. Savo atsidavimu, užuojauta ir nuolatiniu noru padėti kitiems jis įkvėpė visus, kuriems teko garbė jį pažinti.

 Netikėta Roko netektis paliko neišmatuojamą tuštumą jo partnerės, šeimos, draugų, kolegų, mokinių ir visų jį pažinojusių žmonių širdyse. Nors jokie žodžiai negali numalšinti tokio skausmo, tikimės susivienyti kaip bendruomenė ir paremti tuos, kuriuos Rokas mylėjo labiausiai, šiuo nepaprastai sunkiu metu.

 Gavusi visišką Roko šeimos pritarimą ir palaiminimą, Ženevos Afrikos bendruomenė inicijavo šią paramos rinkimo akciją, siekdama pagerbti Roko atminimą ir padėti jo artimiesiems.

 Visos surinktos lėšos bus tiesiogiai perduotos Roko šeimai, kad padėtų padengti laidotuvių išlaidas bei palengvintų finansinę naštą, kurią sukėlė ši tragiška netektis, taip pat padėtų patenkinti kitus šeimos poreikius artimiausiomis savaitėmis ir mėnesiais.
