Ciao a tutti, siamo i ragazzi di InYourShoes, una piccola No-profit con sede a Roma che dal 2017 organizza missioni di beneficenza per aiutare gli atleti keniani a realizzare i loro sogni.

Stiamo raccogliendo i fondi per permettere a dieci studenti, cinque ragazze e cinque ragazzi, di avere un’istruzione scolastica solida e di raggiungere i propri traguardi in ambito sportivo.

Chi siamo?

Il progetto nasce da un’idea di Francisco Grimaldi, regista italiano, con il supporto di Giordano Bravetti. Ogni anno raccogliamo centinaia di scarpe da corsa provenienti da tutto il mondo e le portiamo a Iten, in Kenya, dove vengono donate agli atleti locali. Un semplice paio di scarpe può diventare un’occasione di riscatto per gli atleti e le atlete di Iten che ogni giorno combattono per cambiare la propria vita attraverso il running.

Perché abbiamo bisogno del tuo aiuto?

Da anni collaboriamo con due scuole della Rift Valley, fervida regione del Kenya dove nascono i più grandi runner del mondo. Sono due scuole leader nella loro missione: fornire agli studenti le basi per poter cambiare la propria vita attraverso l’istruzione e l’allenamento.

Vi ricordate di Owen e Mercy? (Qui la loro storia: Owen, Mercy) Lo scorso anno abbiamo raccolto i mille euro necessari per garantirgli un ulteriore anno di boarding school: il prossimo anno si diplomeranno e potranno dedicarsi ai loro obiettivi sportivi. Grazie a chi ha deciso di partecipare, anche solo con un piccolo gesto, abbiamo contributo alla realizzazione di un sogno!

Quest’anno vogliamo fare la stessa cosa ma con un obiettivo più ambizioso: aiutare 10 studenti in difficoltà economica provenienti dalle stesse scuole. La retta annuale di cinquecento euro è una spesa faticosa da sostenere per le loro famiglie e in alcuni casi questo significa essere costretti ad abbandonare gli studi. Senza il nostro aiuto questi ragazzi potrebbero dover rinunciare al loro futuro!

Come puoi contribuire?

Il principio è lo stesso: ogni piccola azione genera un cambiamento e mettendoci tutti insieme potremmo raggiungere il budget previsto per la loro retta scolastica che comprende vitto, alloggio e allenamento per un intero anno.

Come per Owen e Mercy, queste storie sono accomunate dallo stesso problema. Insieme possiamo fare molto!

Hello everyone, we are the folks at InYourShoes, a small Rome-based nonprofit that has been organizing charity missions since 2017 to support Kenyan athletes to achieve their dreams.

We are raising the funds to enable ten students, five girls and five boys, to have a solid school education and achieve their goals in sports.

Who we are

The project is the brainchild of Francisco Grimaldi, an Italian documentary filmmaker, with the support of Giordano Bravetti. Every year we collect hundreds of running shoes from all over the world and bring them to Iten, Kenya, where they are donated to local athletes. A simple pair of shoes can become an opportunity for redemption for the athletes in Iten who fight every day to change their lives through running.

Why do we need your help?

For years we have partnered with two schools in the Rift Valley, a fervent region of Kenya where the world's greatest runners are born. These are two schools that are leaders in their mission: to provide students with the foundation to be able to change their lives through education and training.

Remember Owen and Mercy? (Here's their story: Owen, Mercy) Last year we raised the 1,000 euros needed to guarantee them one more year of boarding school: next year they will graduate and be able to devote themselves to their athletic goals. Thanks to those who decided to participate, even with just a small gesture, we contributed to the fulfillment of a dream!

This year we want to do the same thing but with a more ambitious goal: to support 10 students in financial need from the same schools. The annual tuition of five hundred euros is an exhausting expense for their families to bear, and in some cases, this means being forced to abandon their studies. Without our help, these kids might have to give up their future!

How can you contribute?

The principle is the same: every small action generates change and by putting all of us together we could reach the budget provided for their school fees which include room, board and training for an entire year.

As with Owen and Mercy, these stories share the same problem. Together we can do so much!
