<div>On April 11th, 2024, our family’s world was shattered by the passing of my brother-in-law, Jose A. Devers, after a courageous battle with prostate cancer. Tragically, his diagnosis came in August 2022, just four months after the heartbreaking loss of our dear mother in April 2022. This chain of events has left us grappling with grief and having to adjust to a new reality, as my sister finds herself widowed, and my 13 and 16-year-old nephews must face the future without their father physically by their side.

<div>In the midst of mourning, we are confronted with the financial burdens of this reality. To help alleviate this and provide some relief during this difficult time, we have established this GoFundMe campaign to not only help sudden funeral expenses but also aim to secure a stable future for my nephews by contributing to their college funds. Education is a source of empowerment and opportunity, and we know that Jose and Melissa felt strongly about investing in their boys’ academic future. This in and of itself, is a fitting tribute to their father’s memory.
