Hello loved ones!
I am writing to you to honestly discuss my needs for my final, upcoming spring semester in the UMN/Guthrie B.F.A. Acting program. So, what's coming up for me?
Well, my thesis. My senior thesis is an original singer/songwriter musical performed, written, composed, and directed by me. This musical is called The Lark, centered around complicated characters Henry and Yeva, two songwriters who fall into each other's paths and view the world of music, life, love, and relationships in vastly different ways. This musical explores the ugly flaws in ourselves and what meaningful relationships really look like, all through the lens of intimate and raw original music. I will be performing as Yeva, with my incredible boyfriend Charlie LaBerge performing as Henry. The two main characters are backed up by an onstage, modest chorus who provide additional voices and instruments to the score.
The expenses needed to bring this to life in February are currently outside of my financial abilities. Because of the intensity of the BFA, it is impossible for me to be able to work a job my spring semester and afford the costs of rent, bills, additional instruments, notation software, audio and performance equipment, props, and more.
I am looking to hopefully raise enough money to cover some, or in my dream world, all of these expenses. I am starting with a goal to raise $1,500 as I continue to calculate any other costs that may factor into the show in February.
Anything helps- and will help me bring my final capstone, senior thesis project to life; something I've never done before. A full body of work in which I wrote the book, lyrics, and music, performing as the main character, and producing/directing it all to come to life.
I thank you so much for your help, and hope you can all make it to the show. God bless! <3
