Hello, my name is David Childs, and I’m begging for your help as my family is at risk of losing our home, when we have already lost so much. First, my family and I would like to say how much we appreciate anybody reading our story, and considering donating, it means a lot to not only us, but our little one’s life and future! I am a 24 year old Father, Husband and currently the only financial provider for our family, looking for help in a world that seems to love ripping families apart. We had our daughter in March of this year, 2025. In April, not a full month later, the condo we have started our family in, was sold out from underneath us, with only a month left on our lease. The new owners then raised our rent from $1,800, to $1,875. Days after that, I, the father and financial provider, was let go from my primary state job. Bringing my regular income from $4000 a month, down to $2000, even after switching to a full 40 hours a week at my second job. My wife was unable to go back to work, due to her mental health postpartum, however we also don’t have reliable babysitting services, or the ability to afford a daycare. When we couldn’t afford our bills on the first of May, it sent us into a spiral. Nothing was paid in full, or on time, and now in August, here we are. Our car has been repossessed so we have no transportation, meaning we’re spending the little money we have on Ubers to and from work, supermarkets, and pediatric offices. None of our utilities have been paid off. And now, even though there seemed to be a level of understanding with the new landlords, we were served a superior court notice, and are struggling to pay 2 months worth of rent we owe. We have reached out to rent and utilities assistance services, and they are not accepting any applications at this time. We have applied for all of the state resources, SNAP, WIC, Housing etc. but things like a security deposit, moving truck and supplies, baby gear as our daughter gets older, and transportation, are some things that state agencies just can’t help with, and we’re still not sure we’ll even be approved for any assistance. I haven’t even been able to pay for my phone, so I have been without service since April. I’m begging you, father to father, parent to parent, human to human. Any single cent will help, weather it goes toward my daughters next bottle, or her next home. Every thing is appreciated, because like everything in my wife and I’s life, it is for her.
