Randy Castro has spent decades working in construction and coaching his daughters’ softball teams, always providing for his family and supporting his community. Just days ago, Randy’s life changed dramatically when a sudden bone infection from diabetes led to the amputation of his leg. Overnight, both Randy and his wife Chrystal lost their ability to work—Chrystal is now caring for Randy full time, while also looking after their four children at home.

 This has been a heartbreaking time for the Castro family. Randy is grieving the loss of his independence and is determined to keep providing for his loved ones, even talking about bidding on jobs just four days after surgery. Chrystal is doing everything she can to stay strong for Randy and their kids, but the stress and fear of an uncertain future are overwhelming. Their oldest daughter, Story, is in her senior year of high school, and the family wants to make sure she can still enjoy this important milestone despite everything they’re facing.
