Thanks to our hard-working vendors and wonderful customers, the Brookline Farmers’ Market has been running for over 40 years! Our market continues to be an important part of both the Brookline community and the local food community of Eastern Massachusetts.
Our vendors and our management team worked very hard in 2020 to make the market a success, in the face of many challenges brought about by COVID-19. We were able to pull it off, but not without exhausting ourselves financially, due to the many vendors we were forced to let go in order meet the town’s requirements for physical distancing. It is the weekly fees the vendors pay that allow the market to operate, so this was a blow for us. There were also many new costs to deal with for the new Covid-safe market, such as the rental fee for the parking lot we use, insurance, portable hand wash stations, lots of hand sanitizer, cones, signs, the list goes on.
To make a long story short – the Brookline Farmers’ Market is in trouble. We want to keep providing Brookline and the larger Boston area with delicious, healthy, local food. But we need your help to do it.
Our goal is to raise this money by June 1st, 2021.
Now more than ever, it is important to have access to local food, for the sake of our taste buds, our immune systems, our sense of community, and our local economy. If you love the Brookline community, if you love good food, if you care about local and sustainable farms, if you want to support local businesses and help create more jobs in the Boston area - please consider making a donation.
