<div>Manuel, Ivelisse, Niurca and Dustin Betances are located in Dominican Republic. About 4 years ago, Ivelisse started having some health problems which got worse about 2 years ago, and earlier this year, she had to be hospitalized for over a week. Now, since October 2nd, she's been hospitalized again for complications with an intestinal infection and has been in ICU since then. First, she was in a clinic in La Vega and moved to one in Santiago on the 8th. The infection has not responded to antibiotics and has now progressed to sepsis, and the prognosis is grim, but she keeps fighting to stay alive.

<div>The current situation is that the insurance coverage is maxed out for the year, and the clinic is recommending moving her to a public hospital to continue her care. <strong>The current ICU care is about $2,000 USD per day</strong>, and anyone familiar with how it works in DR knows they want to make sure they get paid for services rendered. Manuel has used up all available funds at this point. While the clinic looks for an available public hospital that can take her, the bill keeps growing, and they may not release her if the payments are not made. They tell him that it can take around 3 days to transfer her.

<div>For those who don't know, <strong>Manuel is my spiritual son</strong> who is serving as Coordinator and has been serving as a regular pioneer with Ivelisse, who has been pioneering for the last 21 years. They have been married for 12 years and have a son, Dustin, who is 6 years old.

Hace aproximadamente 4 años, Ivelisse comenzó a tener algunos problemas de salud que empeoraron hace unos 2 años, y a principios de este año, tuvo que ser hospitalizada por más de una semana. Ahora, desde el 2 de octubre, ha sido hospitalizada nuevamente por complicaciones con una infección intestinal y ha estado en la Unidad de Cuidados Intensivos (UCI) desde entonces. Primero, estuvo en una clínica en La Vega y el 8 de octubre fue trasladada a una en Santiago. La infección no ha respondido a los antibióticos y ahora ha progresado a sepsis, el pronóstico es sombrío, pero ella sigue luchando por mantenerse con vida.
