HELP US CONTINUE TO OFFER QUALITY, NOT QUANTITY!
At Dutchess School of Performing Arts we are dedicated to providing a complete, conservatory style dance education that will promote artistry and inspire and empower all dancers. We believe this is a continuing, growing experience incorporating mind, body and spirit. Understanding the technical components of the art is just the beginning. Aspiring dancers should look outside the dance studio to explore the other elements of their craft. The history and development of dance and music, an appreciation for various cultural styles, total body fitness – all should be part of a dancer’s education. Perhaps most important is for dancers to learn how to appreciate and analyze a wide variety of musical forms and understand their distinct rhythms.
We do not believe that art, specifically dance , is a competition. Since we do not offer 'team' training we are a small studio, and because our enrollment is limited we are struggling to be able to continue with our commitment to provide the professional, hands on training we are dedicated to sharing.
Due to increased rent and utility costs along with limited enrollment we are very much in danger of having to close our doors at the end of this first semester.
Your donation will hopefully enable us to keep our studio open and continue to offer a quality, meaningful dance education to our students. We have added a great rhythm tap program and are looking forward to adding a musical theater class in an effort to extend our boundries and boost enrollment and interest.
To all of my teachers and families I would like to extend many thanks and much appreciation for your generosity, your constant support and your love for the beauty of dance.
