Hello to all in the gofundme community. On the evening of July 11, Jose Barrera, a hardworking, married father of 4 children, was unloading groceries in his driveway when he was struck by an out of control driver. This all happened in front of his 6-year old daughter. Tragically, Mr. Barrera died as a result of his injuries. This horrific event is described in the New York Daily News:

This is one of the most heart-breaking events that I have ever heard of. As a member of a large family, I grieve for the Barrera family. After contacting the reporters who wrote the article to see how I could help, I decided to start this fundraising campaign. No amount of money will replace the loving husband and father that was lost. We can only try and help this family in its time of need. All proceeds from this campaign will go directly to Jose's wife, Araceli Sanchez. Hopefully this will help. This was a hardworking, honest man. Please find it in your hearts to give whatever you can.
