Support Teri Wagor's Road to Recovery

Our beautiful mother, daughter, sister, aunt, niece, cousin, and friend, Teri Wagor, was hit by a car while crossing 192 in a crosswalk with her boyfriend on May 19, 2024. Tragically, Teri’s boyfriend did not survive the crash. By the grace of God, Teri is still with us, however, she suffered multiple traumatic and life-altering injuries. She underwent numerous surgeries to treat injuries to her pelvis, spine, a severe traumatic tib-fib fracture on her right leg, her right shoulder, and her finger. In addition to these multiple injuries, Teri suffered three brain bleeds. Teri spent the first two weeks in the hospital where she made significant strides on the road to recovery. On June 3rd, Teri was discharged from the hospital to an inpatient rehab facility. She then began several therapies to try to restore full physical function. On Saturday, June 15th, while still admitted to the rehab facility, she started exhibiting signs and symptoms of confusion and disorientation. Despite our pleas, the rehab providers dismissed our concerns for 5 days. By Thursday, June 20th, her symptoms had rapidly progressed and it was apparent that it was necessary to bring her back to the hospital. She has been readmitted since then and has undergone multiple tests to rule out infection and identify the cause of her sudden onset of confusion. We now know that although Teri’s brain bleeds have resolved, the damage from her head injury led to inflammation in the brain. Her ventricles are enlarged, causing pressure on the brain and affecting her mental status. Now that we have identified the problem, our main goal is to make sure that Teri has access to the best possible care, to ensure that she has the greatest chance of a full recovery. Teri has undergone several neurological assessments to evaluate her current cognitive abilities. Based on the results, she now qualifies for acceptance to a phenomenal neurological rehab facility in Jacksonville. Unfortunately, this neuro facility is not one of the facilities that was included in the list of centers that are covered by her insurance. We are still waiting for confirmation about possible coverage or out of network benefits. Regardless of the cost, we are determined to get Teri there, where we know she will receive the best therapy for her condition. As you can imagine, Teri’s healthcare expenses will begin to add up. Additionally, while Teri is admitted to the Jacksonville facility, our family will be traveling back and forth to ensure that she is not alone. To offset the unexpected costs we are starting this GoFundMe and humbly asking for your help, whether financially or through prayer. We realize that this is a difficult time for many, financially. We appreciate any and every donation, no amount is too small. If you are not able to donate, please consider sharing. Most of all, please keep Teri and her family, especially her parents, daughters, and sister, in your prayers.
