My friend’s mother sent this to me and asked me to set this account up for them.

“My daughter, Tara, had undergone gastric bypass surgery in 2011 due to major health concerns and 3 previous back surgeries. The doctor she had gone to for her gastric bypass had done the procedure incorrectly causing hypoglycemia, excruciating stomach pain, unmanageable vitamin levels and anemia. Her vitamin levels were so bad that she ended up losing her all of her teeth soon after. We kept going back to see the surgeon but they would not allow us to see him so we were sent to other physicians. No one could figure out what was wrong and we were hopeless at this time. Every doctor we saw after that surgery was gaslighting her and not looking into the issues thoroughly. She was shoved aside many times and she was even told it was just her anxiety and she would have to learn to live with this or get her anxiety under control. This led her to become very depressed which made everything much worse. After many years in 2023 we went to our pastor and he prayed with us for direction and guidance and soon after that we were directed by multiple people to Kansas City. My daughter was blessed with a compassionate healthcare team that listened, provided answers and helped her. When they went in for the revision in 2023 she had a perforated ulcer and a hernia that was causing the pain and complications. We learned about a lot of other issues that had risen up since the first surgery and the team helped resolve those as well. Now today in 2025 Tara is doing much better by the grace of God! She has lost 160 lbs, she follows a strict and healthy bariatric diet and takes expensive bariatric vitamins that are mandatory according to the doctor. She has improved so much but now we have run into another complication. After all of the weight loss she is suffering from extra skin that is causing health concerns. We have prayed for answers on what to do and she now has a surgery scheduled for removal in July this year that is covered by insurance! Praise the Lord! We are both on a fixed income with very little money leftover to be able to board her dogs, pay the hotel costs and have gas money to get there and get the surgery done. It is very hard for us to reach out and ask for help but we know God can provide if we allow him to. We are asking for people to give if they can to help us be able to get her surgery done and relieve her of the pain and skin concerns. It’s been a long 14 years and we are finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. We are hoping to get $2000 to make sure we have enough to cover all expenses.
