Save Suwaiba, 6m baby needs liver

Donation protected

Suwaiba, born to Kazi Yusuf and Sumaiya Kashem is only 6 months old. She lost 80% of her liver functionality from Cirrhosis. In order to save her life, she must have a liver transplant immediately. But in addition to finding a suitable donor, her parents (who were ruled out on medical grounds) have the additional predicament of funding her treatment: costs are exceedingly high for them in the absence of any insurance coverage.

An initial estimate puts the number at $60K USD, and this is likely to only increase as preparations gather pace. The family has already spent almost 8 Lac Rupees (USD$ 13,000) on medical expenses between Dhaka and India.

Even as their friends and family all around the world gather around them to support their desperate cause, Yusuf and Sumaiya still need help from people they may never meet, because the help they need is well beyond the means of those they hold dear.

Please come forward and donate generously to help this little girl become all that her parents know she will be!

UPDATE:

After we started our campaign to support Suwaiba's medical expenses, despite all the doctors' effforts, she could not be saved. We stopped our campaign as a result, and decided to use the raised money to cover the medical payments and debts incurred by her parents during her few months of life. We, the friends of Yusuf would like to extend our  earnest gratitude to all who supported for the cause. We will continue to pray for her departed soul, and we would request you to do the same.

FAQ:

1. Who we are:
We are the college friends of Suwaiba's father Yusuf.

2. Where we are from, Our relationship to Yusuf/Suwaiba:
Yusuf is a Chemical Engineer by profession, working in Nestle, Bangladesh. His friends who are working to help him, however, are scattered around the world. Yusuf's class who graduated with him from BUET (Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology) has a registered alumni organization in Bangladesh named Amra92, which initiated a separate drive to collect fund from the locals. The gofundme website was setup by his classmates in US to extend the effort. The US account has been opened under name Munim Hussain, a Chemical Engineer from Overland Park, Kansas, and a close friend of Yusuf.

3. How the funds will be used:
The debts and expenses accumulated due to the illness of Suwaiba, even without the surgery reportedly exceeded far more than what has been collected. The entire fund will be transfered to Yusuf's account in Bangladesh, unless someone has any objection or has other suggestions to offer, or wants the donation refunded.
If someone wishes to directly transfer funds to his account, the details are given below:
   Bank: Standard Chartered, Dhaka, Bangladesh
   A/C Name: Kazi Mohammad Yusuf
   A/C Number: 18-1267776-01
   Swift Code: SCBLBDDX

4. How the money will be transfered:
The fund collected through GoFundMe will be withdrawn by the account holder Munim Hussain, who is a representative of Amra92 (alumni) organization US extension, and also a close friend of Yusuf himself. Once withdrawn, he will use Xoom (a PayPal service) to do an online transfer of the fund directly to Yusuf's personal account in Bangladesh (details given above). The fund flow is as follows:

   GoFundMe->Munim->Xoom (transfer service)->Yusuf

No other intermediaries will be used in the process. The fund transfer updates will be posted here shortly after the recipient confirms transaction.
