<div>With Steve Meacher's recent diagnosis of colorectal cancer, he is facing a very challenging time. More tests lay ahead, and the treatment plan is still being determined for his specific condition of two primary cancers, a rare and difficult situation. What we do know is that Steve will be facing life-changing surgery and will have to travel from home for chemo and radiation. It is an even harder diagnosis to receive, given that Steve lost his first wife many years ago to this very cancer.

<div>We are reaching out to friends, family and community to please help support Steve during his medical care and healing. It's hard to ask for help, but even at the beginning of the long journey ahead, the stress is already high. The reality of cancer means additional expenses beyond what future benefits and insurance can cover. It means lost self-employment that helped bring in much needed income, above and beyond the day jobs. It means the loss of both incomes, as his wife Michelle Legere will be by his side for every step along the way. Helping to reduce the significant financial strain will help them to focus all their energy on getting Steve well again.

<div>Steve is familiar around town, and many of you will know him from Owen Sound's musical community. Maybe you've seen him doing sound at Heartwood Music Hall, or perhaps he has helped you out at Long &amp; McQuade's. If you've been to Summerfolk for any of the last 30 years of the Festival, you've likely crossed paths. Maybe you've been lucky enough to get one of the awesome heartfelt hugs he is famous for. Backstage at the Goderich Festival, nearly twenty years ago, magic happened for Steve and Michelle with their fateful meeting. Together, they've got this, and your donation will help them in concrete ways to get through this and will lift their spirits with the gestures of love and caring. Even if you are unable to donate, sharing this page is another valuable way to help our friends. A lot of love and a lot less stress is a very big gift to give.
