<div>I have been Steven Roynes' close friend for over 40 years. (You might know me as "Gaily Girl," a nickname Steven gave me at some point in our relationship.)

<div>Steven has stage 4 lung cancer with other issues associated with the disease. He has been courageously fighting the disease and has struggled lately to keep himself out of the hospital and out of the nursing home.
</div>
<div>His one true wish now is to "just be home."
</div>
<div>We have managed to arrange that for him with the help of Hospice, his long-time partner Phillip, and his sister Michelle.
</div>
<div>In order for Steven to be comfortable and safe, it is requiring the hiring of health care workers, which are a considerable expense at this time in his care.
</div>
<div>If you really know him, you know that he would never ask for help because he's the other flow; he's always the one offering help. You would also know he is one of the kindest, funniest, quick-witted, professional, warm human beings you will ever meet.
</div>
<div>He has been part of the Spanish Bay / Pebble Beach family for over 35 years before being forced to retire due to health issues.
</div>
<div>I live away and recently witnessed the amazing family of Pebble Beach and Spanish Bay staff coming by to cheer him up and show how much they care about him.
</div>
<div>And I just have to say it, <strong>THIS was the happiest I have seen him.</strong> He was just glowing as the talk turned to work and the issues at hand.
</div>
<div>I am asking this family of friends, and anyone who would like to do something for him, to be a part of our mission to keep this man comfortably at home and safe.
</div>
<div>He would never ask this, but I can.
</div>
<div>The funds will be used specifically for his home health care expenses, providing as much as he needs, which now is 24/7.
</div>
<div>The funds will also be used to support his sister Michelle so she can be here away from her home and help be part of the care team.
</div>
<div>All of it will be used only for Steven, this man whom you all have known professionally for a long time.
</div>
<div>He is one of the loves of my life, and I will make sure he gets this wish to be home.
</div>
