UPDATE: 9/17

Hello all, the hospital called me at 5am this morning. She started bleeding again. I came straight to the hospital. 

Talked to the doctors.

The risks of a 6th attempt to try and stop the bleeding is too high and could cause more trauma. 

It is with an extremely heavy heart I've decided to make her comfortable and not try and put her very fragile body through more trauma. 

It could be fast or it could be slow, depends on how her body responds to the meds.

I'll update at some point.

I encourage everyone to take this time for themselves... as I am. I probably won't respond for a bit, please know it's because I'm spending all my time with her and processing. 

Thank you ALL for being our family, our community, and the reasons life is good. Your prayers, support, and very gracious generosity has been a gift more time to spend with her and care for her. Thank you doesn't seem enough. 
 
9/16- Hello All! This was created with the intention to help my Mom, Stacey (and I in caring for her) during this very difficult time. 

Please pray for and send all your good vibes and energy to her if you can. 

She was taken to the ER in Wenatchee, WA on 9/4, due to internal bleeding. She has cirrhosis, and multiple ulcers which made the bleeding hard to stop. She just had her 5th procedure on Friday night 9/12. So far, she's stable, still sedated and intubated. The hope and prayer is to maintain stable vitals and extubate today. This is a critical time and she is in a very tenuous state. 
 
I'll be candid, best case scenario she maintains stable vitals, gets extubated, comes off of sedation, breathes well on her own, can try digesting liquids and foods at some point, and begin the very slow journey to recovery and rehabilitation. That would look like rehabilitation; PT, OT, etc. for some time, to gain basic strength and mobility, etc. 

The worst case scenario, the bleeding starts again and I have 2 options; attempt a 6th and high risk procedure, or make her comfortable to pass. 
 
My Mom is my best friend and as you can imagine, it was very hard to arrive and see her in this state. She's one of the most important people in my life. I am so blessed to have her as a mom. She's the woman who's a Mom to everyone. If you've met her, you know that. She'll try to feed you and loves to invest in people. She's always been a helper with a heart of gold... and really colorful spirit. She's a Mom, Sister, Friend, and Aunt. 
 
What will these funds be used for? 

- accommodations (as I am here in Washington for an extended time) 

- best case scenario; help to maneuver into rehabilitation/recovery and cover medical expenses 

- worst case scenario; cremation service 
 
We are lucky to have such a beautiful community of family and friends that we consider family. I want to thank you all for reading this far and praying for her. Your time and words are a welcomed investment and carry great power and meaning. I'll be sharing daily updates as best I can.
